Background Check Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to another wonderful blog hop!  Today the design team is using the new Life Changing Blender Brushes from Picket Fence.  These can be used with any type of ink (I used Distress ink).  My favorite thing about them is how easy it is to change colours.  With the old sponges, one had to change the sponge pad to change colours, but with the Life Changing Blender Brushes you simply change colour.  For the most part I could go from any colour to the next without cleaning my brush; however, with Lucky Clover Distress I did need to clean the brush after.  Cleaning is super easy.  I just wiped the Life Changing Blender Brush on a half dry, half wet paper towel.  So would I recommend them?  Yes.  Then certainly make things easier.  I recommended starting with a small, med and a large brush.

My entire background was inked with the Life Changing Blender Brushes.

Directions:

I die cut a rectangle and a Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside.  With the negative space of the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside I created my own grass.  I then used the Life Changing Blender Brushes to add Distress Ink to all 3 pieces.  I splashed water on the pieces, let them dry and then added another layer of ink.  Then I added splashes of the corresponding Distress inks.

Distress inks I used:

Rectangle: Picked Raspberry, Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch
Grass: Lucky Clover and Evergreen Bough
Water: Peacock Feathers and Mermaid Lagoon

Next I adhered all three pieces together to fit into the rectangle.

I cut out the Slider Grooves die from Memory Box and then added foam tape.  (P.S. Do Not buy foam tape from the dollar store- it makes a mess of your scissors.)

After adhering the rectangle piece to an A2 card front I added the slider bottom back onto the card front (as seen above) so it would match the rest of the card front.  Next I added all the coloured stamped pieces from Lawn Fawn's Toadally Awesome stamp set.  I inked these with Memento Tux Black (so the colour wouldn't run) and coloured these with alcohol based markers.

On the inside corner I added a few more dragonflies.
